Fr. Anscar’s Lecture on Liturgy

“The Philippine Society of Medieval Studies, together with the Theology/Religious Studies Department of DLSU will host its annual magisterial lecture on February 19, 2011 at the Yuchengco Hall of De La Salle University- Manila. Speaker will be Fr. Anscar J. Chupungco, OSB with the topic, “The Liturgical Reform of Vatican II: the Philippine Experience.”

Fr. Anscar Chupungco, OSB is a monk of the Benedictine Abbey of Our Lady of Montserrat in Manila. He is former president of the Pontifical Liturgical Institute in Rome, where he taught history of liturgy and liturgical inculturation. Chupungco was Executive Secretary of the Philippine Episcopal Commission on Liturgy for eighteen years and is currently Secretary of the Asian Liturgy Forum. He has served as consultor to both Vatican Congregation for Divine Worship and the Vatican Congregation for Catholic Education, was a member of the Advisory Committee of the International Commission on English in the Liturgy (ICEL) for ten years, and for some time served as Chair of ICEL’s Translations and Revisions Subcommittee.

The lecture is open to individuals and religious communities for free. Arrangements may be done for an econference at a minimal fee.”
